Coimisiún na Meán joins the Public Media Alliance

The Public Media Alliance is a global association of public service media organisations, regulators, and supporters. 

Coimisiún na Meán, has today (13.02.2025) announced it has joined the Public Media Alliance (PMA) as an Affiliate Member. The Public Media Alliance is a global association of public service media organisations, regulators, and supporters, with a mission to support and promote the role of public service media. PMA’s membership is split between Members, and Affiliate Members – organisations that are part of the wider public media ecosystem such as independent regulators, academic institutions and fellow civil society organisations. 

Welcoming the announcement, Broadcasting and Video-on-Demand Commissioner Aoife MacEvilly said:  

“Coimisiún na Meán is responsible for developing and regulating a thriving, diverse, creative, safe and trusted media landscape and this includes our public service media organisations, RTÉ and TG4. As part of our commitment to public service media, we are delighted to join the Public Media Alliance, and we look forward to a constructive working partnership with them and their members.”  

Chief Executive Officer for the PMA Kristian Porter, CEO of PMA said:
